Ingredients:
- 1 packages - yeast
- 5 tablespoons - warm water
- 3/4 cups - shortening
- 3 cups - wheat flour
- 2 cups - white flour
- 5 teaspoons - baking powder
- 1 teaspoons - baking soda
- 2 teaspoons - salt
- 3 tablespoons - sugar
- 2 cups - buttermilk
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
Blend remaining dry ingredients with a pastry cutter.
Combine yeast with buttermilk then add dry ingredients, making a stiff dough.
Store dough in refrigerator.
Roll out necessary dough and cut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet in COLD oven. Bake at 450° until brown, probably 10-12 minutes, but maybe longer with cold dough and cold oven.
