Ingredients:
- 1 ounces - feta cheese chopped
- 7 ounces - sweet roasted red peppers
- 1/2 cups - whole almonds chopped, divided
- 16 ounces - cream cheese softened
- 1 cloves - garlic pressed
- 10 ounces - frozen chopped spinach thawed and drained
- 1 packages - refrigerated French bread dough (11 oz)
- 2 tablespoons - Parmesan cheese grated
- 1 - dried oregano leaves
Directions:
Canapé Bread
1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. Spray bread baking tube with non-stick cooking spray or vegetable oil.
3. Combine cheese and oregano; roll bread dough in the cheese mixture to coat evenly.
4. Cap bottom of bread baking tube, fill tube with dough, place cap on top. Bake upright, 50-60 minutes.
5. Remove bread from tube and allow it to cool.
6. Slice into 1/4" thick slices then bake an additional 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cheese Spread
1. Chop feta cheese, red peppers, and almonds.
2. Combine cream cheese and feta cheese.
3. Press garlic over cheese mixture, mix well.
4. Stir in spinach.
5. Divide cheese mixture in half.
6. Line 1 qt. bowl with plastic wrap; sprinkle 2 Tbsp. of the chopped almonds over the bottom of the bowl.
7. Press half the cheese mixture over the almonds.
8. Top with red peppers.
9. Spread remaining cheese mixture over peppers.
10. Cover and chill.
11. To serve, invert onto serving tray, remove plastic wrap and press remaining nuts into sides of molded cheese. Serve with Canapé bread.
