Brief Description
1 pound ground beef 1 large onion, chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 can (28 ounces) stewed tomatoes 2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste 1 teaspoon basil ½ teaspoon oregano ¼ teaspoon pepper 1 bay leaf 9 lasagna noodles 2 cups mozzarella cheese ½ cup Parmesan cheese Cook beef, onion and garlic, drain. Stir in tomatoes, paste, basil, oregano, pepper and bay leaf, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 40 to 50 minutes. Cook noodles, drain. Discard bay leaf from sauce. Spread a fourth of the sauce into a 13-in. x 9-in. greased baking pan, top with 3 noodles, a third of each cheeses. Repeat layers. Bake uncovered at 350 deg for 35 to 40 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting. Servings: 12
