Baked Acorn Squash

Ingredients:

  1. 2 - acorn squash cut in half
  2. 1 1/2 tablespoons - packed brown sugar
  3. 1 tablespoons - unsalted butter
  4. - sprinkle of nutmneg
  5. 1/2 cups - to 1 cup water

Directions:

Cut acorn squash in half and remove seeds and membrane. Scrape until clean.

Place cut side down in a shallow baking dish filled with about 1/4-inch of water.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes or until tender. Baking time depends on the size of the squash.

Remove from oven and flip squash over. (If squash is large, cut into quarters before filling and serving).

Fill the cavity of the squash with the brown sugar and butter. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
