Ingredients:
- 5 1/4 cans - flour divided
- 2 1/2 packages - (8 oz) cream cheese (1-1/4 lbs) cubed & divided
- 30 tablespoons - (2 sticks + 6 Tbs) salted butter cubed & divided
- 1 cups - granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoons - ground cinnamon
- 5 pounds - apples and/or pears sliced
- 10 ounces - dried mixed fruit
- 1 tablespoons - lemon juice
- 1 cups - powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons - to 4 tsp milk
Directions:
1. Reserve 1/4 c flour. With mixer on low speed, beat 1/2 cream cheese and 1/2 butter 1 min. Beat in 2-1/2 cups flour 1 min; knead into ball on floured surface. Repeat once to make second dough. Add 1/4 of second batch to first batch. Shape each batch into rectangles. Wrap; chill 1 hr.
2. In bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon; reserve 1 Tbs. Add next 3 ingredients and reserved flour to remaining 1 c sugar mixture; stir.
3. heat oven to 375°F. Line 12-1/2" x 18" rimmed baking pan. On surface, roll out larger dough to 15" x 20" rectangle; fit into bottom and up pan sides. Spread filling in pan. Roll out second dough to 13" x 20" rectangle; place over filling. Brush bottom dough edge with water; fold over to seal. Cut 6 slits in dough top to vent; sprinkle with reserved sugar mixture. Bake on lowest oven rack 55 min. or until done, covering with foil during last 20 min. Let cool. In bowl, mix last 3 ingredients; drizzle over bars. Cut into squares.
