Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 2 sticks - unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups - sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoons - salt
- 2 - large eggs
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons - colored sprinkles
- 1 sticks - unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1/4 cups - vegetable shortening
- 2 cups - confectioners' sugar
- 1 tablespoons - milk
- 1/2 teaspoons - vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons - sprinkles or more, as desired
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F. Line a 13-x-9-x-2-inch baking pan (cake pan) with foil.
In a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer), beat butter until smooth. Beat in sugar, baking powder and salt.
Beat in eggs, one at a time, scraping down sides of bowl after each one; beat in vanilla. Add flour and beat just until blended, then stir in sprinkles. Spread into prepared pan.
Bake until browned at edges and firm, about 25 minutes. Cool completely.
Make the frosting:
Beat together butter, shortening, confectioners' (powdered) sugar, milk, vanilla and salt. Spread over cooled bars.
Top with sprinkles and cut into bars to serve.
