Bread Puddin'

Ingredients:

  1. 10 cups - sugar
  2. 25 - whole eggs
  3. 10 cups - milk can use half and half or heavy cream
  4. 10 teaspoons - vanilla
  5. 2 - 2 cubed
  6. 2 1/2 cups - brown sugar
  7. 2 cups - soft butter
  8. 3 cups - pecans
  9. 3 cups - raisins
  10. 4 cups - sugar
  11. 5 sticks - butter
  12. 5 - beaten eggs
  13. 10 teaspoons - pure vanilla
  14. 1 cups - brandy or bourbon optional

Directions:

FOR BREAD PUDDING:

1) Whisk together sugar and eggs. Combine mixture with milk and vanilla. Let it sit.

2) In another bowl, mix brown sugar and softened butter by hand. Add in pecans and raisins.

3) Pour custard mixture in the two pans of bread.

4) By hand, add brown sugar mixture on top.

5) Cover with foil and bake for 30-45 minutes @ 325°.

*Do not fill 2” pan over ¾ of the way full.
**Remove foil and brown if necessary.

FOR SAUCE:

1) Stir sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in saucepan until sugar is melted.

2) Take sauce off the stove and add brandy or bourbon.

3) Pour sauce over bread puddin’.

*Brandy/Bourbon are optional.
**Can serve sauce on the side.
