Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoons - paprika
- 1 teaspoons - pepper
- 1 teaspoons - salt, divided
- 1/2 teaspoons - sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons - garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoons - dried sage leaves, divided
- 4 - beef tenderloin steaks (6 ounces each)
- 1 - large onion, halved and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons - butter
- 2 teaspoons - brown sugar
- 24 ounces - refrigerated mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cups - shredded Parmesan cheese
Directions:
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the paprika, pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt, sugar, garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon sage. Add steaks, two at a time, and shake to coat.
Broil steaks 4 in. from the heat for 7-9 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°).
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute onion in butter until tender. Add brown sugar and remaining salt; saute 1 minute longer.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the potatoes, cheese and remaining sage. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Serve with steaks and onion.
