Ingredients:
- 1 cups - All-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons - Sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons - Baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoons - Ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons - Butter
- 1/2 cups - Sugar
- 4 teaspoons - Cornstarch
- 1/3 cups - Water
- 3 cups - Fresh or frozen unsweetened sliced, peeled peaches
- 2 cups - Fresh or frozen unsweetened pitted tart red cherries
- 1/3 cups - Plain fat-free yogurt
- 1/4 cups - Refrigerated or frozen egg product Thawed
- - Frozen light whipped dessert topping, optional Thawed
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 400 For topping, in a small bowl, stir together flour, 2 T sugar, baking powder and nutmeg. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside.
2. For filling, in a large saucepan, stir together 1/2 C sugar and cornstarch. Stir in the water. Add peach slices and cherries. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Keep filling hot while you finish preparing topping.
3. In a small bowl, stir together yogurt and egg product. Add yogurt mixture to topping mixture, stirring until just moistened.
4. Transfer filling to a 2-qt. square baking dish. Using a spoon, immediately drop topping into 8 mounds on top of hot filling.
5. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean, about 20 min. Serve warm. Top each servcing with whipped dessert topping if desired.
