Chili Beef Cheese Pie

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pounds - ground round beef
  2. 1 cups - chopped mushrooms
  3. 1/2 cups - chopped onion
  4. 1/2 cups - chopped green pepper
  5. 1 cloves - garlic minced
  6. 2 teaspoons - chili powder
  7. 1 cups - tomato sauce
  8. 1 cups - whole kernel corn
  9. 1 cups - chopped tomato
  10. 1 1/2 cups - shredded jarlsberg or cheddar cheese
  11. - pastry for double crust (9-inch)

Directions:

Brown beef in skillet, stirring to break into pieces. Add mushrooms, onion, green pepper, garlic and chili powder.

Cook until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Turn off heat, stir in tomato sauce, corn, tomato and 1 cup of cheese.

Roll out half of pastry to fit and place in 9-inch pie plate. Spoon prepared filling into pastry.

Roll out remaining pastry; cut into 1-1/2 inch circles with biscuit cutter. Put circles along outer edge of pie, overlapping them. Seal to bottom crust; crimp edges.

Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese over meat mixture. Bake 10 minutes more.
