Cinnamon Coffee Braid

Ingredients:

  1. 4 1/2 cups - flour
  2. 1/4 cups - sugar
  3. 1 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  4. 2 packages - dry yeast
  5. 3/4 cups - water
  6. 1 cups - margarine
  7. 2 - eggs
  8. 1/2 cups - sugar
  9. 2 teaspoons - cinnamon
  10. - melted butter

Directions:

Combine in mixing bowl 1-1/2 cups of flour, 1/4 cup sugar, salt and yeast.

Heat milk, water and margarine to lukewarm. Add to dry ingredients. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.

Add eggs and 1/2 cup flour; beat 2 minutes on high speed. Stir in enough flour to make stiff batter. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

Turn dough on floured board. Divide into six sections. Roll each into a rope 18-inches long. Braid 3 together.

Place on greased cookie sheet. Stir together cinnamon and sugar for topping; brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.

Allow to rise 1 to 1-1/2 hours until doubled. Bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.

Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze before serving.
