Discreetly Decadent Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 5 ounces - unsweetened chocolate squares
  2. 1 sticks - butter
  3. 1/2 cups - sugar
  4. 1 cups - boiling water
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoons - baking soda
  6. 2/3 cups - sour cream
  7. 2 - eggs
  8. 2 teaspoons - vanilla
  9. 2 cups - sifted flour
  10. - dash of salt
  11. 4 tablespoons - butter
  12. 4 ounces - semi-sweet chocolate
  13. 3 tablespoons - heavy cream
  14. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  15. 2/3 cups - confectioners' sugar

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour a 9-inch bundt cake pan.

In a heavy saucepan, melt chocolate and butter. Stir in sugar and boiling water until smooth. Put in bowl; mix in eggs and vanilla.

Dissolve baking soda in sour cream. Mix in with chocolate mix (mix medium speed). Beat flour and salt into batter until blended (about 30 seconds).

Bake 50-60 minutes. Cool.

For Topping:
Melt butter with semi-sweet chocolate. Remove from heat. Whisk in heavy cream and vanilla. Stir in confectioners' sugar. Spread warm glaze over cooled cake.
