Number of Servings:

Ingredients:

  1. 2 - to 3 Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced
  2. 4 tablespoons - chopped up real butter I never use margarine when cooking or baking
  3. 3 tablespoons - sugar
  4. 4 tablespoons - brown sugar
  5. 2 teaspoons - cinnamon

Directions:

Peel (core) and slice your apples…you can decide how thick you want the slices. The thicker the slice, the longer it will take to cook.

Melt your butter in the pan. Add your apples. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and about 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon on the top of the apples while they are cooking. Let the apples simmer until the butter has been absorbed and the apples are tender but not soft. You don’t want mushy apple slices.

Stir the remaining sugars and cinnamon together and pour on top of your apples. Mix it all up and turn your heat down low. You want the apples and sugar mix to “work” together until everything has dissolved and the stuff in the pan looks a little thick like syrup.

Taste, of course, and if needed, sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top. Enjoy!
