Hot Spiced Apple Juice

Ingredients:

  1. 1 quarts - apple juice
  2. 3 sticks - cinnamon
  3. 2 teaspoons - whole cloves
  4. 3/4 cups - sugar or more or less, as desired
  5. - juice of 1/2 lemon

Directions:

Tie the spices loosely in a white bag (cheesecloth or such) and place in a sauce pan with 2-1/2 cups of water. Add sugar and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

In the meantime, heat apple juice in another container and add lemon juice.

Remove bag of spices from first pan and discard. Combine remaining contents with apple juice.

Heat and serve with a garnish of thinly sliced lemon and a whole clove.
