Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cups - Butter
  2. 1/2 cups - Sugar
  3. 1 whole - Egg
  4. 1/4 cups - Molasses
  5. 1/4 cups - Corn Syrup
  6. 2 1/2 tablespoons - Water
  7. 1/2 teaspoons - Soda desolved in water
  8. 3 1/2 cups - Flour
  9. 1/2 teaspoons - Cinnamon
  10. 1/8 teaspoons - Cloves
  11. 1/8 teaspoons - Allspice
  12. 2 tablespoons - Anise Seed

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg. Mix molasses and corn syrup and add to butter mixture. Add flour, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and anise seed and mix thoroughly, Chill until firm. Roll into pencil size strings. Chill again until firm, then slice into small pieces. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 mi.
